Go ahead - take a bite!

Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. What a fabulous story! An expat-in-France must-read. Highly recommended for everyone else.

by Catherine O'Flynn. I loved the super-dry humor, as well as the unforgettable characters.

Heart-wrenching fictionalized memoir. What a great read!

Malavita by Tonino Benacquista (in French). What a FUN story. Good enough to drag you through all of the French vocabulary you don't yet know!

This book has pretty much rocked my spiritual world (or lack thereof) lately. Especially for women raised in the Evangelical Protestant tradition.

I loved the beginning, not as much the middle, and the end tied it up nicely.

I really enjoyed my second Charlotte Mendelson read!
My favorite French book of 2008. (English version is entitled Hunting and Gathering)
As usual with his books, I laughed until I cried.
I have found my Favorite Book of 2008, and it is... When We Were Bad by Charlotte Mendelson.

You must read this book. You just must - believe me.

This book is my favorite since "History of Love". A beautiful story told in an original manner. You have to read it. You do.

Holy cow can this woman write! Probably why she just won the Nobel Prize for Literature. These are short stories - good for parents of young children.

This is one of the stranger books I have read. But there are parts I can't get out of my mind, they seem so true (though so unlikely). Don't let the first chapter stop you - plug through and get your reward.

OK, this isn't a read, it's a see. One of my favorite Americans-in-Paris movies of all time.

Contains some of my favorite "expat American in France" stories. I can't read this book too many times.

I couldn't put this one down I enjoyed it so much. If you love France, or food, or living vicariously through someone else's Paris experiences, it's a must read!

I have a beat-up old version of this book that someone gave me, and it is the best guide for really basic French cooking.

A book that will bring out your inner starving artist.

If you haven't read this book about the New Yorker writer, Adam Gopnik, living in Paris with his wife and son, you MUST! Not to be missed.

One of my all-time favorite books about Paris.

Reading between the lines of this book teaches you a hell of a lot about French women. Just don't try her leek soup diet. Your spirit will wither and die.

Thanks to this book I can carry on a semi-knowledgable conversation at French dinner parties. For those who already know a bit about the French.

My absolute favorite book of 2007.

Short stories by women writers on their experiences in France.

My friends sent me this last year when I had to cook on a regular basis for my picky father-in-law. I have been happily cooking my way through its recipes ever since.

That's cute :-) way to go Lulu (wink)
I'm impressed. Very good, Lucia! You so made my day!
So cute!!!
hysterical! I don't think she could be any cuter. And even though she looks like Laurent a bit, she has your eyes and the mischevious twinkle in them you had when you were her age!
I can't wait to see them again!
Love ya Gretchen
Ok, I have done the SAME THING with my 3-year old, lol. But he also tells people that "McCain didn't win. But he is being a grandpa now so I think he will be ok." I *do not* know where that part came from. :)
