Malavita by Tonino Benacquista (in French). What a FUN story. Good enough to drag you through all of the French vocabulary you don't yet know!
This book has pretty much rocked my spiritual world (or lack thereof) lately. Especially for women raised in the Evangelical Protestant tradition.

This book is my favorite since "History of Love". A beautiful story told in an original manner. You have to read it. You do.
Holy cow can this woman write! Probably why she just won the Nobel Prize for Literature. These are short stories - good for parents of young children.
This is one of the stranger books I have read. But there are parts I can't get out of my mind, they seem so true (though so unlikely). Don't let the first chapter stop you - plug through and get your reward.

If you haven't read this book about the New Yorker writer, Adam Gopnik, living in Paris with his wife and son, you MUST! Not to be missed.
Reading between the lines of this book teaches you a hell of a lot about French women. Just don't try her leek soup diet. Your spirit will wither and die.
Thanks to this book I can carry on a semi-knowledgable conversation at French dinner parties. For those who already know a bit about the French.

My friends sent me this last year when I had to cook on a regular basis for my picky father-in-law. I have been happily cooking my way through its recipes ever since.

a fat lip just in time for Mother's Day! A great present from your little one. i'll never forget the time I took Dominick to the doctor's office when he was about 6 months, and he was swatting at me in the face. His finger somehow went up my nose and gave me a bloody one. all the moms in the waiting room started chuckling to themselves. i was not a happy camper.

That kind of thing used to happen more to me when J was a baby - now it's "Lightsaber bruises" on my wrists. :)
Amy, may be you shuold try some ganozhi series on your skin now, for skin care.
